HP CD Writer 9110 Plus and XP - Help!

Steph

I've been using the HP 9100 under 2000, worked fine. Upgraded to XP,
worked fine. Installed HP DLA, and now I can't burn anything anymore.
Tried downloading Record Now from HP, Windows Media Player 9, nothing
works.

HP DLA, Version 3.10
HP RecordNow, Version 3.5
Drivers:
5.1.2535.0 01/07/2001, Microsoft

XP SP2 Build 2600

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling DLA, and it still wont let me
burn anything.

Please help.

I think that version of DLA may be too old to work effectively in XP
SP2. The current one (which does, but not free from HP) is 4.5,
available from http://www.sonic.com/products/dla/features.asp
HPs download of 3.1 which is OK for original XP is at
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?product=57716&lang=en&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&os=228

If you remove a burning program like DLA it is liable to leave you with
left over registry entries, that can cause trouble. To tidy up, get a
registry patch file, cdgone.reg, from
www.aumha.org/downloads/cdgone.zip, extract it, r-click on it and merge
it into the registry and reboot

You will then need to reinstall any burning software that you *do* use.
