cd-writer

I have a problem with my HP cd-writer 9350i. When I open up "My Computer" it
sometime and sometimes not shows drive "E" but not all the time. When its
there, it works fine the cd-writer. Long time ago I found a file which
solved this problem I have now on you newsgroups I do not have anymore since
my computer got formatted twice since then.
I was wondering if anybody could help me to solve this problem.
Using: WIndows Xp SP2

My only problem now is mycd tray wont open. There is no cd in the tray. How
do I get it to open so I can make cds again?

Diane, try restarting the computer and as it begins to bootup press the cd
drive tray button.

I did what you told me to do about pressing the button while the computer
was rebooting, it didn't work. Do you have any other solutions how to fix it?
