Problem: made mistake and set up Outlook 2003 on new Vista home premium
laptop for Exchange server and now can't get Outlook up. When clikt Outlook
keeps looking for MSExchange and then
shuts down saying OL can't be opened offline. except online, just not linked
in to the xchg server.

Chk'd online & wisdom says "delete MS-xchg from ctrl panel" - except it
was never really set up - just configged in OL03 - and isn't shown on ctrl
panel. Other info says 'delete email account' but there really isn't one &
can't find how to rid my OL03 on Vista home premium laptop of the accursed
exchange config so I reconfig and use Outlook 03. Help, Mr. Bill? Gracie~!

PS: Already did the uninstall / reinstall of OL03 and even the entire suite
(Office 03) hoping that'd clear out the xchg config in registry - which
apparently is where the problem is - and let me reinstall and reconfig
Outlook: Short answer: "Nope. Didn't work." Thx.

So under Control Panel>Mail> Profiles, there is no Default Outlook
Profile? If so, highlight and remove. If not, then use Add to add a
new profile setup for Internet email.

Would if i could : there is no Mail icon in ctrl panel - running Vista and it
doesn't exist.

Correction: Found it buried in ctrl panel under a hidden little window that
said "view 32 bit ctrl panel items" - sheesh! Make it difficult or what?

So you are running 64bit Windows instead of 32. That's why it's imperative
to give ALL pertinent information about your system - if you'd said that at
the beginning someone would have told you that's where the Mail applet would
be...

Same thing over here.
Had to reinstall the whole OS to get rid of that bug.
Incomplete exchange account setup and a crash made it impossible to start
because it boiled off saying the Outlook was off-line
Sure we all love M$ tools, correct? <g>

Anyway, thanks!

OMFG!!! is a whole easier to check email from evolution than from outllook!
First it says I must add it from control panel instead of outllook... nice!
When I try to add it from Mail at Control Panel
that thing keeps saying that Outlook must be "online or connected "
(whatever that means) when I try to add the exchange account!

Yes it does. Enable viewing the 32 bit Control Panel and you'll see it.
