howto configure client computers to use server 2003 internet conne

hello everyone,

i am attempting to secure a small office network by setting up a
peer-to-peer network without a firewall device. i installed a second nic card
on the 2003 server. i then ran the "Connection Wizard" and activated the
firewall. the server was able to connect to the internet and local network
just fine (thanks microsoft for that feature). in the documentation, it says
to use the server is now the default gateway. i then configured the client
computers to use the server as the default gateway. however, this did not
give them internet access.

if you read that much i hope you can help :)

i must have missed something when configuring the client computers or the
netgear router. the documentation doesn't provide instructions on how to
configure the clients, only that the server should be used as the default
gateway.

can anyone point me to a tutorial, or provide me with instructions on how to
setup the clients.

thank you

It is better to use NAT instead of firewall. Also, make sure there is only one gateway on the server. this search result may help,

NAT and Firewall In the Select Routing Protocol dialog box, click NAT/Firewall, and then click OK. ... NAT/Firewall blocks the client accessing the Internet. ...
