I take it you are in the US, can you give a few links to sites you would use please. It would make it a lot easier. Its easy for one of us to say use this or that part etc, but prices in the UK are a bit differnet to the US

Foxcon mobos are ok they show up well in a lot of test reviews even if they do not have all the bells and whistles of top end boards.

Why on earth would anyone but and IDE HDD ??? SATA 2 is the way to go without a doubt.

That cpu is a power hog. If you are just playing low end games go for a cheaper Athlon 64 X2.

Do yuo really need 4 GB of ram ??? 2 GB should do and save you some bucks.

That GFX card is really crap. Go for at least a 4670, this is a really good one but you can get cheaper ones,

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161252

Personally I always use second hand cases I get for free and spend me money on a decent PSU. Looked at newegg but did not really recognise the psu's offered, but personally that is the way I would go.

I had a quick look at Newegg and personally I think this is a much better starting point for you and you could up grade later aswell.

GFX as above link $ 60

Mobo http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128392 $ 80

CPU http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103681 $87

Crucial Dual Ram kit http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...2010170147 1052129233&name=240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM $28

Which comes to $ 255.

HDD http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148261 $47 which is only 2 dollars more than your choice but it is much faster and nearly twice the capacity. Bringing your total to $302. Which leaves you loads of loot.
I could probably put a better set up together but I'm not familiar with the USA suppliers.

If Asus, Gigabyte and DFI boards are the Rolls Royce, Bentley and Lexus's of the motherboard world, then the Foxconn series are Fiat 500's

Unless you are going for the sort of thing that Windwithme tested, there are far better choices with ASUS etc....

An the difference between your qoute of flops quote and my statement ( Foxcon mobos are ok they show up well in a lot of test reviews even if they do not have all the bells and whistles of top end boards.) would be

If you could give us a link to one of those better choice Asus boards at NewEgg I'm sure that would be very helpful.

I based my opinion on doing lots of reading, browsing forums and making mental notes.

Most cheap boards are crap, with one exception - Asrock. Which are made by Asus, so that figures.

The Okia PSU is rubbish and who the hell sells PATA HDD's nowadays with a new system?

I would avoid that supplier myself and look elsewhere.

My online friends across the pond tend to favour New Egg, perhaps they're worth taking a look at?

Wasn't disagreeing with your quote. I did actually point the guy in the direction of a Gigabyte board at NewEggas he had stipulated that particular supplier.
