How well will Vista function om my PC?

Hello,
I have a PC with a configuration of a P4 processor, 3.02 GHZ with HT
technology, an original inter(R)82915G series Motherboard. 80GB HDD, 512MB
RAM. A DVD writer and an LCD screen, with optical mouse and a internet
keyboard.
The thing is that i know that Vista will run on my PC but how well will it?
I mean will it function with the same efficiency and speed as XP is now, or
will it slow my PC down? How well will my gaming be on this new interface,
will it run on maximum efficency or will have to copromise on my gaming
quality?

If it does slow my PC down, how will it? and what upgrade must i make so
that Vista functions with maximum quality on my PC.

Vista in its current form is slower than XP no matter what kind of a system
you have, especially gaming. In the future, these things should improve and
hopefully should see equal or better performance to XP. (I certainly hope.)
No matter what, you'll definitely want a minimum of 1GB of RAM for decent
performance as Vista will probably eat close to all of your 512MB of RAM.
You'll want a video card as opposed to your onboard graphics if you want to
run Aero Glass. Now past those two things you should worry about in your
computer, everything looks good to run Vista well.

Here is a good place to start. Remember that when Windows XP first appeared
the minimum RAM recommended was 128MB, so apply the minimum requirements
accordingly.
