Hi,
I was using windows 2000 Professional with lot of
Programe.It was working fine but last night i got some
problem in my motherboard & Cpu so i replaced to that &
fix it new motherboard & CPU after that when i tried to
boot my windows 2000 professional its giving Error(death
Screen) windows not starting.
why this thing is happen if i install win2k
professional again then i will loose my all software.i
dont want that.so please help me to save my Programe &
operating system.

The only way I know to recover from this situation requires
that you put the disk back into the old PC and make certain
adjustments while Win2000 is up and running. Can you do this?

You have to replace the motherboard-specific driver for
your IDE Master Controller with the generic Microsoft
driver. There is a 90% probability that this will allow
Windows to start on the new motherboard. Plug & Play
will resolve most of the other differences. Note that the
keyboard & mouse may be out of action for up to 10
minutes.

Normally, unless the new motherboard is virtually identical to the
old one (same chipset, IDE controllers, etc), you'll most likely need
to perform a repair (a.k.a. in-place upgrade) installation, at the
very least (and don't forget to reinstall any service packs and
subsequent hot fixes):
