How to view 2nd hard disk details

Hi,

I had dual boot system with WindowsXP and Redhat Linux. Basically I
installed Linux on second hard drive and on the same second hard drive I have
some space with NTFS formatted partition and mapped it as G:. Everything was
running fine till today.

Today I was trying to make a new partition on the second drive(there was
still some free space left out) and I screwed it someway. Now when I
rebooted my machine with windwos it is rebooting properly, but it does not
show up the second drive NTFS partition at all.

Even when I tried from Disk Management utility, I dont see the second hard
drive. Strangely I do see the second hard in Device manager -->Hard disks.

Can anyone please tell me what might have happened and
1. how I can recover atleast the NTFS partition(It is fine even if I lose
all Linux related data/partitioning)
2. what I should do to see the second disk drive in Disk Management Utility.

Thanks in advance,

Hi,

Sounds like you mangled the mbr with whatever partitioning software you were
using. The partition is most likely marked as "hidden" to the Windows
installation. Check the documentation for the partitioning software and boot
loader as to how you should recover it.
