It may be this driver:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/...en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=434623&os=228&lang=en

But you should go here and make sure the right driver is downloaded.
Click the proper link, click "Software & Driver downloads", click
"Microsoft Windows XP", and under "Driver - Display" is the driver file
and the date it was uploaded. If not any newer than your computer,
don't bother the 11MB download.

One other thing to try:

Try lowering graphics hardware acceleration slide. You can lower
graphics hardware acceleration in Display Properties, Settings tab,
Advanced button, Troubleshooting tab. If this helps, you probably need
a different graphics card or drivers.

If the video card is integrated into the motherboard, your can't replace it.
Otherwise, the fine manual should tell you how to remove and replace the
video card.
However, your description of your problem more closely fits the annoying
behavior of the built in mouse pad. The solution for this cause is a
wireless mouse.

"Update the video card" means one of two things.

The first is replacing the card itself, which you can't do because it's
embedded on the motherboard of your laptop.

The second is updating the video card *Driver*, and you figure that out by
going to the laptop manufacturer's support site and looking for updates.

If you identify the video manufacturer (for example ATI or nVidia), you can
then possibly go to their site and get newer drivers. However, pay very
close attention to whether the updates will work with your hardware.
