How to Uninstall

I rebooted my computer this morning, and got an error message that my
boot.ini file was corrupted or missing and to reinstall a file. it would
not go any further. I tried starting in Safe Mode, to no avail - same error
message. I tried everything I could think of - restore from the WinXP
disk - wants an administrator password (have never set a password - nothing
worked). So...I made the mistake (I NOW know) of reinstalling WinXP HE into
a separate folder, thinking that keeping my original folder would allow me
access to my programs, etc. No such luck. Is there anyway to remove this
last installation? I tried to do a restore back to when it was working
(yesterday morning), but it only gives me the option of restore to noon
today, no further restore points. Tried to check out the restore folder in
my "old" windows directory, and it again only gives me today for restore.

Any suggestions on how to get back my old computer? This new install
doesn't recognize one of my hard drives, doesn't recognize my wireless
network, nor any of my programs will work. I'm in distress. Thank goodness
I have another computer (the kids) to send this post at least! Thanks for
any assistance. I'm at a total loss as to what to do next.
