Hi,
After I installed the MSN messeger, from time to time there's always some
message pop up, and I am sure it's from the messager. How can I stop that? I
try to uninstall the MSN messager from the Add/Remove program menu, but I
can't find the MSN messeger... so what should I do to stop the messages?

Hi Adrian,

Does it read Messenger Service, per chance? If so:

You need to turn turn on the firewall.

To disable the Messenger Service:

Go to Start/Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Services. Double click the
Messenger Service and change Automatic to Disabled, then click the Stop
button.

Or use this automated edit:

Disable Messenger Service (Line 95)

To Delete the Messenger Service:

Go to Start/Run/CMD and type in: sc delete messenger. Reboot.

Or...

Or go to Start/Run/Regedit and navigate to this key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services

hi there.
try browsing to the msn folder in program files and uninstall manually from the file
uninstall.

go to add remove programmes. on the left of the screen is
an icon "REMOVE WINDOWS COMPONENTS" go into there and you
will find msn as a removable part

Hi,
Thanks very much guys. I have try all your solutions. I've browsed through
the MSN folder, but there's no uninstall icon.... While for the "REMOVE
WINDOWS COMPONENTS", I only found the MSN Explorer, is it the one you are
talking about? I currenlty used the first advice, which is to disable the
service, and it seems to work fine. Thanks a lot.
