how to unencrypt an encrypted message?

I saved a document that I wrote in another program and saved to Word. When I
went to open it, it was encryted and I cannot read it. Any suggestions?

What other program? Saved to Word -- how? What version of Word?

When you say "encrypted" do you mean only that it appears to be a bunch of
gibberish, or do you know that one of the programs used a specific
encryption algorithm?

Even given the proper answers to these questions, it's highly unlikely that
anyone can unscramble the mess you've made. Rather than waste time chasing
after some "fix", it would probably be more efficient for you to start over.
This time try writing the document in Word to begin with.
