Am buying new computer with Windows XP. Present computer has Windows
95 OS. What is best way to transfer programs and data from 95 to XP?
Thanks

You can create a Local Area Network with the two computers, then copy and
paste between them.
OR
Move the hard drive from the old one to the new one as a slave, then copy
files.

The programs will need to reinstalled.

Follow the other suggestion for data. Or copy to CD or Zip drive. Then there is also the files and settings transfer wizard (XP).

Also, you can create shortcuts to any program you copy, to make them run.
