According to help, to synchronize a shared folder on a network, one clicks
the item and then chooses "synchronize" from the tools menu. The item is
apparently supposed to be listed in the synchronization manager. However on
my computer, the only thing listed in the synchronization manager is "my
home page" and nothing else -- even after I click the shared folder on the
network that I want to synchronize and then select synchronize from the
tools menu.

What is the problem? How do I get more than my home page listed in the
synchronization manager?

Ned,

I'm having the same problem. Have you figured it out yet?

I'm trying to use XP's synchronization feature to sync files in a folder on
my hard drive with one on an FTP site. I set up the FTP site thru My
Network places and am able to manually move files back and forth.

When I select Tools Synchronize on a folder window, I get an Items to
Synchronize window. Under name, it lists "Offline Web Pages" and under that
and a little indented it says "My Current Home Page", with a check box to
the left.

I can't get any further than that. I suspect the secret is in changing
"Offline Web Pages" and/or "My Current Home Page" to something meaningful,
like c:/html/index.html, but canot figure out how to do it.

Anyone know the next step?

Ultimately, I want Synchronize to send files to the ftp site anytime they
are updated. (I can do it with WS_FTP. I'm trying to do the same thing
with XP.

No answers, yet.

Could this be an XP Home vs. Pro issue? If it is, it seems weird that the
Help on XP home would suggest that shared folder synchronization should
work.

You must be logged in as administrator

You must enable offline files:

From any windows folder window
Tools/Folder Options/Offline Files = Enabled
