How to synchronize local and network passwords

I am wondering how to synchronize local and network passwords on an XP pc.
I've tried doing some research but I got no where. Is there a way that I can
do this without installing some software? Do I have to go into the registary
to do this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What sort of "network" password are we talking about?

When one of the employees at our work change their password to log onto their
local machine because it prompted them to do so. Is there a way to
synchronize the local password with our network password? Each employee
needs to get onto the network because they have files and folders of their
own. But when one of the employees change their local password, it still
prompts for a password when trying to get onto the local network. It doesn't
sync the local machines password with the local network password. I am just
wondering if there is a way to sync these two together so when the user
changes the password on their local machine, it will also change the password
to the local network. Or do I have to get some sort of software to do so?
Or do I have to mess with the registary?

Thanks
