How to show captions and titles for a photo

All my saved digital pictures have captions but I can't figure out how to
make the captions (or titles) appear when each image is shown on a screen
(TV for example). Is there a trick to that, or do I need an add-on program?

I have WinXP-Sp2, and keep my photos in the default place on the hard drive.
Also WMP10, Word 2000 and no Office.
