How to setup Remote Desktop Connection to Machines Behind A Network

I want to be able to connect to either of 2 machines
located in the office. The Office has a DSL Modem and
also a D-link router. We have a static IP address for
the DSL line. How do I setup or differentiate the two
computers at the office, so that I can connect to either
one or the other from home. Do I have to do something
with the router to give each computer a fixed IP
addresses or something? Any help is appreciated. I am
at a loss on how to solve this problem.

Once I solve this problem do I have to leave certain
inbound or outbound ports open on the router? Do I have
to have a router that allows IP tunneling in support of a
VPN connection? Is there a good book or tutorial that
can help me with this? I suspect that there are others
that are faced with the same problem.

Thanks in advance.

I have a small page that illustrates how to access multiple XP Pro Remote Desktop sessions behind a
firewall/NAT/router. The methods for port redirection and port forwarding are based on access
through either the XP ICF or a Linksys BEFSR41 router. Modify as needed for your particular router.

To setup static IP addresses on the XP Pro boxes look at these links...

For DNS addresses, use the addresses provided by your ISP.
