How to setup 2nd Domain Controller

Currently, I have only 1 windows 2000 domain controller.
I am planning install a 2nd domain controller as a backup
in case my current domain controller goes down. Anybody
can give me tips/ideas/suggestions/info on how to start
and how to do it. Thanks in advance.
 
Install the new server. Update the Service Packs and patches. Run dcpromo
and follow the wizard.
 
Not really, you'll want to add DNS to the 2nd server and make both DNS
server Active Directory Integrated for fault tolerance and such but that
should do it.
 
Also might want to make the second DC another Global Catalog server.
