How to Set Open Dialog Box view to match folder view?

Lenny

The view preference I set for all folders does not get
used by the open and save dialog boxes, it would appear.
How do I set it so that the open box view is always
the "detail" option instead of the "list" mode -- so I
don't have to reset the mode from "list" to "detail" every
time I want to open or save a file? This gets to be a real
pain after a while.

Thanks

This view can't be changed natively. Third party:

File-Ex, allows you to default to Details view in all
open/save dialogs, even those in My Pictures.

Or a workaround:

Add a folder at system level to Common Dialog, set the view and it will be
retained. To do so:

For Pro:

Go to Start/Run and type in: gpedit.msc then navigate to:

User Configuration/Administrative Templates/Windows Components/ Windows
Explorer/Common Open File Dialog/Items Displayed in Places Bar.

Choose Enabled then paste or type the link to the folders that you want
listed.

Or...

Add Folders to the "Save As" Dialog (Places Bar) Line 118

Or use TweakUI/Common Dialogs
