How to set folder view for files below only

The folder view function has either a choice for each folder, or for all the
folders on the computer. I need somethng in between.
I need a way to set all the 1000's of folders containing pictures to
"Thumbnail" and all the 10's of 1000's of mp3 files to "List" Doing it one
at a time is too much work. How can I set every folder in the master folder
mp3 Files to list, without also changing the My Picture folder, which should
show all photos in thumbnail view?

Re-reading my post, I may have made it less comprehensible than I might
have. What I want is for every folder and subfolder in the computer to open
in "List" view--UNLESS, the folder contains nothing but pictures, in which
case it should open in "Thumbnails". For this purpose, pictures are either
jpg, bmp, png, gif.
