How to select only email addresses, no faxes?

When you create a new mail message and click on the "To:"
button, a "Select Names" dialog box comes up allowing you
to select among the names in your contact list.

If your contacts have multiple email addresses, or an
email address plus a fax number, then the contact will
appear multiple times on this list.

I don't need or want to send faxes through my email, so
how can I remove all of the contact instances that
represent FAX numbers?

Also, the "Select Names" dialog is not wide enough to let
you to see which email/fax each item represents.

Is there any way to widen the dialog box or do something
else so that the email/fax field shows up in the list.
Otherwise, you just have to guess which instance of "John
Doe" represents the email address you want to use? (And if
you're wrong, delete it and try another.)

Isn't that sweet? Microsoft's making room for those third
parties to make some money, too.

Yep, but I really think this should be in the product; who still uses faxes
on a daily bases? I can see why this functionality is handy in a large
corporate environment with a faxserver but it really looks messy for the
large majority who doesn't have it. O well, one for (e-mail address removed) I
guess.

Thanks Roady. I see you answer many queries here. It's a
great service you provide. Much appreciated.

I'll opt for the "add a letter" solution. The add-in price
of $20 seems steep to solve a nuisance.

Follow-up question.

The "Select Names" dialog shown on the add-in web page

http://www.sperrysoftware.com/Outlook-Hide-Fax-Numbers.asp

does not look like mine. Mine has the three boxes on the
right hand side for "To:" "CC:" and "Bcc:".

Is there any way I can get the wider dialong without the
three boxes on the right?

You're welcome! :)

The screenshot posted there is from Outlook 2003. The To, CC and BCC are at
the bottom there and you can resize the Select Names window. It's one of
many GUI changes that comes with Outlook 2003.
