how to "see" into a removable HDD/Zip disk drive letter missing

I installed a Dataport removable Hard drive on a computer
running WinXP on a permament drive. The Dataport has a
small DOS partition and a 4 Gig Win2k Partition, and is
dual boot.
Two problems: Xp assigned a drive letter that was in use
by my zip drive. (Yes, I know, Zip not supposed to have a
drive letter but it does no harm, (til now)). Now, the
Zip has a different letter(H) and does not show in "My
Computer." Also, the Removable hard drive, (F), can be
seen, but shows 200 mb drive space. It must be looking at
the DOS partition. How do I get the zip drive to show
in "my Computer", and how do I get XP to look into the 4
gig partition of the removable?

Hmmm. I've never seen one that didn't get assigned a drive letter.

You can assign any drive letter you want to anything except the boot
partition. So change them to anything you want. On all of my computers, I
change the zip drive to "z" writeable CD to "w" and DVD to "V" just so
they're uniform.

As far as seeing the rest of the drive, have you gone into drive management
and seen what it says there?

In XP Zips are often mistaken for hard drives, and
according to the KB the only way to correct it is to
reinstall XP. Mine doesn't seem to be "assigned"
anywhere :) Drive manager shows: The Zip drive as Z...(I
changed it, thanks)..but Z doesn't show in "My Computer".
The partitions on my removable HDD show DOS as the
primary partition and WIN2K as another. Each has it's own
drive letter. Only the DOS letter shows in My Computer. I
can access the W2K Partition thru drive manager. I added
the zip to my "send to" folder, so access problems are
worked around. I'd still like to be able to show both the
zip, and the W2K partition in My Computer. Thanks for the
help!!!
