? How to save folder columns

Hi,

I've got a folder where I keep a bunch of MP3s. I have no need of the
TYPE column since they're all MP3s (duh!). I also do not want any of the
other columns that XP insists on showing in a folder like this since it then
has to read each and every file to extract that info. I only want the
filename, date modified, and date created columns. Unfortunately, setting
those only lasts a little while and then it reverts to the default format.

Is there some way I can get it to save the format I want? I'm willing
to edit .HTT files (or whatever XP uses). Also, is there a way to get XP to
quit "customizing" folders according to content and just use regular
folders? It's really annoying when it does that background thing in
"video"/"music"/"picture"/etc folders.

First download and install the fix to make xp "remember" more than 400
folders.

Then, in explorer, set your view as you like. (if needed to set all folders
view: tools, folder options, view tab, apply to all folders.)
