HOW TO ROLE BACK XP SP2

Hello,
I encountered this today, where after installing xp sp2 i could do
nothing after login. No icons or startbar. I could however do the
following
ctrl alt del, and then go to task manager "explorer" would not run. I
was however able to run appwiz.cpl (add remove programs).
Removed service pack and all ok.

Try booting into safe mode and then use add/removed to remove the update.

Sorry, in safe mode it produced the same blue screen.

How about repair install using original Windows XP CD? the instructions
are here:

Once you have done this, wait until tomorrow to autoupdate to SP2.
Also, don't bother to install any other service packs or hotfixes. Just
let the system decides what you need.
