How to rid user logons

This is probably really elementry but I can't find the answer. I'm the only
user of my laptop and I'd like my Windows XP home to go stright to the
desktop at start up instead of going to the user log on screen and requiring
me to click on my lone user icon. I'm pretty sure this is possible as I have
seen others configured this way. In control panel under 'users', I can
eliminate this but then it just comes up with the old style user logon window
esentially requiring the same thing. Isn't there someway to tell XP home to
skip all this user nonsense? Thanks.

You have 2 things to do, to come out from the problem:

1. Goto Control Panel and open User Accounts.
2. Click "Change the Way users log on or Off"
3. Make sure "Use the Welcome Screen" option is checked.

Secondly,

1. Click Start - Run - type CONTROL USERPASSWORDS2
2. Uncheck the option "Users must enter a user name and password to use this
computer", If it is checked.

Hope this information helps you, let us know!
