How to reset file associations?

M

MaryL

I recently installed Adobe Photoshop Starter Edition 3.0, and it reset all
the file associations for *.jpg files so they now open in Adobe. That is
*not* what I want. Can anyone tell me how to get to the list of files and
select the one I want? I have done this in the past when Windows did not
know which association to use, and I was given a list of programs to choose
from. However, in this case, every *.jpg file now opens in Adobe. I did a
search (but obviously not a very successful one), but each link I checked so
far simply had a question similar to this one but not the solution.

Thanks,
MaryL

Thank you! That was a very rapid and helpful response. I used the third
option you listed because I did not want to accept the Windows default for
all files (for example, I had already reset *.txt files to a different
option), but I did want the default for *.jpg files. The solultion you
listed worked perfectly (and easily).
