how to rerstore default JPEG icon?

mistral

Some time ago I have installed Sierra Image Expert on my PC (win98). Other
than the program itself, the installation procedure has changed the default
viewer of .jpeg files from Internet Explorer to Image Expert, with the icon
being changed. Since i dont like this program, I have uninstalled it. But
now all my jpeg files have Sierra imaging icon, and I have problem restore
original jpeg icon. I tried to reassociate program which will open jpeg
files, and set default one - Internet Explorer(My Computer >Folder Options>
File Types> edit> Application used to perform action). I have changed the
file association for my .jpg files to provide opening it
with Internet Explorer(default), OK. But jpeg files have a Internet
Explorer icon. How change jpeg icon to normal?
I tried changed icon to normal use standard way: from Windows Explorer >
File Types > Change icon. Even if I try edit icon, it doesn't hold my
change.

thanks

Read the instructions. Then get...

JPE/JPG/JPEG Association Fix (Restore the default associations for
jpe/jpg/jpeg files)

BTW, the default viewer for picture files should be Windows Picture and Fax
Viewer.

To restore that...

Click Start | Click Run | Paste: regsvr32 shimgvw.dll | Click OK

If that doesn't work, make sure Preview default is set correctly.

When you open an image file in Windows XP the default action is to preview
it using the Windows Picture and Fax Viewer.

ShellImagePreview
Value Name: (Default)
Value Type: REG_SZ

Also if that doesn't work...
