How to rename computer in domain?

We have recently implemented a standard naming format for the computers
(workstations, not servers) on our domain. I would like to change the
machines I manage to that standard without having to visit each machine.
Can this be done remotely, i.e., from my workstation or the DC?

I should have mentioned that the machines (and domain) are Windows 2000.
The utilities below appear to work only for WinXP/W2K3 environments.

I found that the Win2K version of Netdom.exe does not have the
"renamecomputer" parameter, so I built a WinXP box, installed the Support
Tools, and was able to successfully change the computer name of a Win2K box
in my domain. Thanks for the tips!
