How to remove "Your Computer is at Risk Automatic Update is turned off"?

I DON"T WANT ANY MORE UPDATES TO MY SP2 FROM MICROSOFT. For a number a
reasons, I have turned off the Automatic Update feature for Windows,
and routinely update manually. Now, however, an annoying window keeps
popping up with "Your Computer is at Risk. Automatic Update is turned
off. etc." Could someone please tell me where in the REGISTRY to find
out how to STOP this anoying message, and I DO NOT WANT TO HAVE IT
TURNED ON FOR ANY REASON!!

I am using Win XP Pro/SP2.

Your resolution to this issue is appreciated!!

If you go to the Security Center Applet (Start - control panel - Security
center), on the left there should be a pane with "Change the way security
center alerts me"

Click it, then clear the check box for Automatic updates. (If it's grayed
out, try setting the Automatic updates to be something other than turned
off, shut the applet, then reopen it - it should be enabled. Change your
options as you see fit, then re-disable automatic updates.)

And I share your pain. Until someone told me about this about 2 weeks ago, I
was ready to scream at that blasted little balloon.

Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel and click on "Security Center".
Click on "Change the way Security Center alerts me", uncheck Automatic
Updates and click OK.
