How to remove old backups from upgrades

N

Norbert BEHETY

Everytime a Windows is upgraded, there is a set of backup files created in
case of uninstalling the upgrade.
After a few upgrades, these sets of backups are using precious disk space
and are obsolete.
I'd like to know how to remove it without uninstalling them.

Thanks,

Norby.

Hi Norby

In order to get rid of those Uninstallation Files, you can just delete those
$NTUNINSTALLQ... Folders. This will remove the backed up files and free disk
space. Only delete those Folders if you are sure that you will never have to
roll back one of those updates. If you are not running very low on HDD Space
I do not recommend to delete those Files.
To free some space on your HDD you may as well want to run 'Disk Cleanup'
(from START->PROGRMS->ACCESSOIRES->SYSTEM TOOLS.

Hope this helps. Regards,

Fabio
