How can I remove note pad and word pad from windows xp and
windows 98?
These are hard to read when you have a file. My computer
saves files as word pad. These are hard to read and are
annoying

You really shouldn't remove them because the actual problem
is your file associations. You can simply change them to
use Word instead. If you'd like more info on that, come on
back. Because I think it would be more of a problem to you
to remove those apps, I'm not checking on how to remove
them.
