Word Doc vs. Word Pad

Help...something has changed on my computer, and I don't even know if I did
it. But now, all my Word Docs are being converted to Word Pad Docs! I open
up the program Word --do my thing --save as a .doc file and it is changed to
a word pad! Ugh!!! Even if a Word Document is emailed as an
Attachment...when I click to save it...it shows as a word pad. Ugh Ugh!!
Can anyone help...I am wasting too much time...and no money to bring the
computer into a geek...

The documents are not changing. All that has changed is that Windows is
associating .doc files with WordPad instead of Word. To fix that, follow the
instructions at http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/ReRegisterWord.htm.
