Thanks! It worked as you said.
Unfortunately the host of problems I have on my new Win XP Pro
laptop are still there, but at least another step forward is
done. Thanks!

Hi,
Open Windows Explorer to C:\Windows, locate the
$NtUninstallKB911567$ compressed folder and double click it,
then double click on the spuninst folder, then on the
spuninst.exe file within it. Or just start typing into the
address bar C:\Windows\$NtUninstallKB911567$\spuninst if you
cannot see the folder.

Subject: How to remove KB911567? (to fix Error 633: modem in use
or not properly configured)
I have a laptop apparently affected by KB911567 (Error 633 modem
in use or not properly configured, without real reason).
MS says KB911567 can be uninstalled by Add/Remove Programs. But
on the affected PC, KB911567 doesn't show in Add/Remove
Programs.
How do I? TIA,
