How to remove file associations

R

Rainald Taesler

I've been working with Vista now and can not remember how it works in XP
:-(

How can one completely remove the associations for a certain type of
file - in the case given PDF - completely ?

Under Vista I just use the little tool UNASSOC but that's not compatible
with XP.
This tool was created because the handling of file associations has
someway been castrated. So I'm sure that in XP there was a feature for
doing what I'm after.

Could anybody pls fill my memory gap?

TIA
Rainald
