how to remove CD writer from Fujitsu PC case?

Hi all

Curious! want to replace a CD writer in a Fujitsu Seimens Scaleo Media
Centre PC case.. Simple? No..

Case has one removable side panel..drive/s cage if fixed in (as far as I cal
tell) removed the two exposed screws for the CD drive hoping it was just
fixed by those two.. but no.. the drive is still fixed somewhere else on the
other (blind) side.

Top and other side is one piece and pop rivetted! .. could drill out the
rivets but seems so extreme..

Anyone have knowledge of this case or done the job?.. looking at external
USB solution at present.

Is this the case:

At any rate, if we're talking about a tower-type case, I would look to
see if the front face of the case comes off. Sometimes there will be
tabs inserted through metal part of the case that can be manually
depressed to release the plastic effect on the front.

Agreed, that is how OEMs often do it...

Front bezel pops off, entire drive rack slides out the
front. Quicker for them to assemble but can mean you have
to unplug all drives before pulling the rack out.

Thanks both for the info

It looks same/very similar to the image..

I will take another look. i can see the facia lugs on the open side... but
not obvious where/how to get at the 'hidden' side..

You dont necessarily need to, releasing the ones on the open
side may well be enough to let you get the front bezel off.
