how to read data from a ram address

l have a question about reading data from a ram unit,are there some api
functions for it,please give me a help!!

Could you explain what you are trying to do a bit more. (Big picture) as any
variable will be in RAM to write to...
 
of course from a physical address, for example, read a byte
from a unit in dual-port ram,
