How to put a task on the To-Do list in Outlook 2007

I have set a recurring task but I cannot get it to show up on my To-Do list.
I found some instructions that said to "click to select the Display reminders
and tasks from this folder in the To-Do Bar check box in Outlook 2007. To do
this, right-click the personal folder, click Properties, click to select the
Display reminders and tasks from this folder in the To-Do Bar check box, and
then click OK." I feel really dumb, but I can't figure this out. Please
help. Thanks.

Where did you find those directions?

What kind of mail server are you using? How many task folders do you have?
If you go to Go - Tasks, do you see the task in the To-do List there? If
you create a non-recurring task in the same method, does it show up on the
To-Do list? Which To-Do list are you looking at?
