Problem with To-Do Bar and Task List

In Outlook 2007, I get the following error message in my To-Do Bar: "The
operation failed. An object could not be found." This message appears at the
bottom, where the Task List should be (which is otherwise blank).

Also, when I go to To-Do List under My Tasks on the left menu bar, I get the
message "Cannot display the folder."

Are the To-Do list and the Task List the same thing? And are these errors
connected?

And how do I fix them?

Yes, they are more or less the same thing and the problem is related. Close
outlook and restart it using the /resettodobar switch.

Yes, SP2 is installed.

By re-setting the view, do you mean doing this from within Outlook, i.e.
going to Define Views under the View pull-down, and re-setting? I have just
done this under Tasks, and there is no change.

Did you try resetting the view?

Was outlook closed completely (not listed in task manger) when you tried the
switches?

Try Office diagnostics.

Outlook was closed completely, i.e. not listed in Task Manager.

I ran Office Diagnostics and it did not identify any problems.

The error message remain.

Was outlook closed completely (not listed in task manger) when you tried the
switches?

Try Office diagnostics.
