How to prevent Outlook from becoming default mail handler?

We have Outlook installed on our computers but need Eudora to be set as the
default mail program. It seems as though Outlook will make itself the default
mail program after Microsoft updates are installed every month. How do I
prevent this?

None of our users are administrators, so if they change the default mailer
from their account it won't stay. You need to be an administrator to set the
default mailer and keep the setting intact it seems.

How can I prevent Outlook from taking it over?

the only way is to stop the updates or uninstall it. Uninstalling it is best
if you aren't using it. Can you set Eudora to always check and to silently
retake the default?

Eudora can be set to check, but unless the user is an administrator the
setting doesn't seem to take affect.
