how to prevent automatically startup every time i open my computer?

every time when i open my computer some softwares,say,google updater,
will automatically start. but it's involuntary for me. how can i
prevent this without deleting these softwares? can anyone give me some
tips?

First, see if there is an option similar to "load at startup" in the
corresponding application(s). If so, uncheck the option. Secondly, you may
use the MSCONFIG.EXE utility in Windows to troubleshoot Windows startup.
