How to organise distribution lists in alphabetical order?

I have created several distribution lists in contacts. I think through using
the category button they appeared at the end of my thousands of contacts. Now
they are intermingled with all my addresses. How can I get them to go back to
the end or the beginning?

If that happend by using the categories button, you probably have a view
ordered by categories. You may either change the view (i.e. the grouping),
or give the dist.lists another category.
