IE saves the last window size when you close IE so first close all IE
windows, then start IE by clicking your Desktop short cut. Maximize this
window (by double clicking the Title bar or clicking the Maximize icon on
the toolbar). Now close the IE window. The next time you start IE it should
remember its size from the last time you opened it.

IE also has a command line parameter that you can use to open it in Kiosk
mode (which is full screen but without toolbars) as opposed to full screen.

Starting IE in full screen mode
iexplore -k index.html

"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE" -k - When entered in the
RUN dialog opens Internet Explorer in Full Screen Mode at the Default Home
Page.

Mike,

Not sure about XP, but if you go to the help file for Windows, there are
instructions for such a question.

Copy/pasted from W98/se help file:

To start a program in a minimized or maximized window

Right-click Start, and then click Open.
Locate the for the program you want to start, and then select it.
Click the File menu, and then click Properties.
Click the Shortcut tab.
In Run, click Minimized or Maximized, and then click OK.
Notes
Starting a program in a minimized window is most useful for the items in
your StartUp folder on your Start menu. In this case, the program will start
every time your computer starts, and will appear as a button on the .
To use that program, click its button.

You can configure any shortcut to start in a minimized or maximized window.
For information about creating shortcuts, click Related Topics.

To delete a shortcut, drag it to the Recycle Bin. The original item still

You may even add a toolbutton "Full Screen" to the toolbar. R-Click on

Mike,
Close all instances of Internet Explorer except for one.
Right-click on a link in the page and select: "Open in New Window"
Close the first browser window using the [ X ] (upper right corner)
Resize the second browser window manually by dragging the sides to the
desired size.
Note: Do NOT click the Maximize button, you *must* do it manually.
Hold down the Ctrl key and click the Close button (upper right)
Visit another web site, open a link in a new "window", it should now be the
desired size.
Note: some pop-up browser windows will alter this process if that is the
last one closed.
If that occurs again, you now can resolve this problem.

[Exception]
In some cases the "Remember last window size" info becomes corrupted in the
Registry.

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main]
"Window_Placement"=

Right-click on "Window_Placement" and select: Delete
Note: Remember to Export the key before editing.
--
When all else fails, paste the below line into Start | Run
javascript:window.open(screen.availWidth,screen.availHeight)

Then make *sure* the above window is the last one closed.
