How to Make Screen Saver More Mouse-Sensitive?

I recently got Windows Vista Home Premium, and I've noticed that when the
screen saver is up, I have to move the mouse several inches before the screen
saver will exit. I recall being able to set an option for how easily moving
the mouse can end the screen saver in XP, but I can't seem to find such an
option in Vista. Is it possible to change the screen saver so that moving the
mouse just half an inch ends the screen saver?

The reason why it takes so much is because it is not recognizing your mouse
right away when you move it. turn up the sensativity on your mouse via the
control panel see if that solves your issue.

The only option I could find that looked like mouse sensitivity was the
slider that sets pointer speed (Motion, under the Pointer Options tab.) I
tried setting that to maximum speed, and tried it with the Enhance Pointer
Precision option on, then off. In neither case was the screen saver as
receptive to mouse movement as I'd prefer it to be.
Incidentally, I broke out a ruler to check distances, and "several inches"
turned out to be an exaggeration...but I verified that moving the mouse half
an inch does not end the screen saver. That's about how far I've grown
accustomed to moving the mouse to end a screen saver under XP.
