How to load Netbeui on XP

MikeBg

I am working on a workgroup that for now has both Windows
98 and XP Pro PC's. The printer is shared by one of the 98
boxes but the XP system can't see it. I think it is
because the XP box doesn't have Netbeui but I can't find
it in the list of protocals or on the CD. Thanks for any
help.

You are better off insuring the 98 boxes have TCP/IP instead of installing
NetBEUI on XP. Netbeui is not support on XP, however it is included on the
CD. See 301041 HOW TO: Install NetBEUI on Windows XP

NetBEUI is on "real" XP CDs, of both the OEM and Retail flavor.

But, it is not on the "recovery" CDs which many (if not most) hardware
vendors include with PCs that ship with XP. And, it is not included
AFAIK on the HD of those PCs that ship with XP pre-installed.

NetBEUI isn't necessary. You should be able to use TCP/IP as the only
protocol.
