How to Listen to Internet Radio Without Any Other Computer Sounds ?

S

Sore Ears

When I have my speaker volume turned on to listen to
internet radio or other media, there is a constant stream
of beeps, door closings and other strange sounds through
the speakers. How can I turn off all 'system' and 'alert'
sounds without totally muting the speakers? I have tried
the sound category in control panel to no avail. Can
anyone help?
Thanks

What else do you have running? My boys have those sounds coming from AIM
and Yahoo. Good luck!

You couldn't have. I hate system sounds and have the scheme set as none and it works for me. Go>start\control panel\sounds and audio devices and double click to open it. Then click the sounds tab and click the drop down list arrow to the right of the line under "Sound schemes" and highlight "none" and then click apply down the bottom and all but your startup and BIOS error sounds will disappear. Close your way out and enjoy your music. {:~)
