How to import pst files. Outlook 2000

File-open-PST
Gives me drop down saying,'Properties for this information must be defined
prior to use. Then another drop down saying,' File is denied. You do not
have the premission required to acess the file. Then lists location.
I am the only user on this PC no network, no password set up.
What do I need to do?

Thanks

Use Tools-> Email Accounts/Services (named differently depending on
configuration) and add the Personal Folder service to attach your pst-file.

Went to'Outlook task bar-tools-options-preferences-e-mail options-(nothing
about personel folder service here or in Advance E-mail options. Nothing in
mail delivery-Accounts
manager-accounts-mail-properties-general-servers-connection-advanced. No
personel folder service option in any of these drop downs.

Where are you attempting this import from?

Is the .pst file on your local hard drive? Did you remove the Read-Only attribute from its properties? Make sure both are true and then try opening it again.

After furious head scratching, Ken asked:

Milly You are THE one! That pretty much did it. Well at least for three of
the files. Of course the one I wanted the latest still doesn't work, but Hey
I am way ahead at this point. Thank You very much. Ken
