.pst files error

When trying to open .pst file in Outlook 2000 I get an error message saying
"Properties for this information services must be defined prior to use". Then
it says "(filename).pst is not a valid .pst file". Tried the repair tool,
with no success.

It's a 2000 pst file, trying to open with Outlook 2000. It was working fine
until the user rebooted the cpu, then they were unable to open the .pst.

Perhaps something happened to the mail profile. In which was Outlook
installed (IMO or C/W)?

Finally kicked my brain into gear, did a restore of the .pst file from a tape
backup and got it working again. Not sure what happened to it to begin with,
but thanks for your assistance.
