How to import favorites?

Gerry Wolff

I have recently upgraded from W98SE to WXP. This has meant saving important
files, wiping disc C: and installing WXP.

Amongst the files that I saved were all the 'favorites' in the Windows
folder of W98SE.

Please could someone explain how I can import these favorites into IE6. It
seems to expect a file and there does not seem to be any means of importing
a set of folders.

With thanks,

Gerry

In Internet Explorer, go to File > Import and Export and then follow the
wizard.

Need anymore help outside of that, just ask.

How did you save the Favorites?
If you saved by using File-Export and creating a single file, then use
File-Import to import that file. If you saved the Favotites folder
instead, then copy the contents of that folder to the new Favorites
folder.

Favoties folder in Win98SE was probably C:\Windows\Favorites
Favorites location in Windows XP if installed on C:
C:\Documents and Settings\logon_name\Favorites
