hello all,

with windows explorer the contents of directories in the right pane by
default view opens in tile mode. Can that default be permanently change
when any directory is opened to open in detail view. I work with large
graphic files and if a folder has a number of large graphics it takes a long
time to regain control while windows tries to generate a icon for the
images. Also i just prefer to always see all the deatils of the file
anyway.

thanks anyone for help

gregory

Hi Gregory,

Open Windows Explorer to any folder, set it up the way you like it. Click
tools/folder options, on the view tab click "apply to all folders". Click
apply/ok.

Set up a window to look just as you would like the default (things like
size and position, and sort order as well). Then in its Tools - Folder
Options - View ensure you have 'save folder view settings' checked, make
any other adjustments you want there, then click on 'Apply to All' at
the top
