How to get the curson to go to the next line down.

Hello, my line spaces are set on 1.0. When I hit the enter/return key instead
of going to the next line, the cursor goes to the one after that. How do I
get rid of this extra space? It also jumps after I paste a few words and then
hit enter.

Let me know please, thanks.

Line spacing refers to the distance between lines of text in the same paragraph
(when a line wraps automatically at the right margin).

When you press ENTER, you create a new paragraph. The space between paragraphs
is controlled by the Space Before and Space After properties (left of the line
spacing setting in Format/Paragraph). Check that these are set to 0 (zero)?

Thank you Cindy and here is more of the answer. Here is the answer. I found out that if you are on a page where you paragraph settings are already set
you won't be able to change your paragraph formatting. It keeps reverting
back to the old one. If you are on a new page though, you can set the before
and after paragraph settings both to 0. Just make sure you hit OK. For a less
permanent solution, you can also use shift, as you hit enter, and it will
take you to the next line.
